Who is a "potter"?

A potter is an artist who creates items like bowls, vases, and plates from clay. They shape the clay by hand or using a potter's wheel, then fire it in a kiln, which is an oven for baking clay, to harden it. Potters often glaze their works to add color and make them waterproof.
