What is a "cartilage bone"?

During the process of endochondral ossification, cartilage is gradually replaced by bone tissue, forming the structure of the bone. This type of bone is found in various parts of the body, such as long bones (e.g., femur, humerus), the vertebral column, and the base of the skull.
