What is a "gibbon"?
Gibbons are small apes known for their slender bodies, long arms, and tree-dwelling lifestyles. They are found in the tropical rainforests of Southeast Asia and are known for their acrobatic abilities and loud vocalizations. Gibbons have distinctive appearances, with males and females often differing in coloration and fur patterns. They are known for their swinging locomotion, or brachiation, where they move through the forest canopy by swinging from branch to branch with their long arms. Gibbons are highly territorial, forming monogamous pairs and defending their territories with vocal displays and territorial calls. They have a frugivorous diet, primarily feeding on fruits, leaves, and flowers.
