Depression is a mental health condition characterized by constant feelings of sadness, emptiness, or hopelessness. People experiencing depression may also lose interest or pleasure in activities they once enjoyed, have changes in appetite or weight, experience problems with sleep patterns, and feel fatigued or have low energy levels. Other symptoms can include difficulty concentrating, feelings of worthlessness or guilt, and thoughts of death or suicide.
