What is a "turkey"?

A turkey is a large bird with a plump body, distinctive feathers, and a fleshy, wattled neck. It has powerful legs and sturdy feet for walking and scratching the ground. Turkeys are omnivorous and feed on a variety of foods, including seeds, nuts, insects, and small vertebrates.
