Foulball, foul Ball

(baseball) a hit that travels outside the foul lines, usually resulting in a strike against the batter

What is a "foul ball"?

A foul ball in baseball or softball is a ball that is hit outside the area of fair play, which is the space between the two foul lines and the outfield fence. If the ball lands in foul territory, it is considered a foul ball, and the batter gets another chance to hit. However, if a foul ball is caught before it hits the ground, the batter is out. A foul ball does not count as a strike unless the batter already has two strikes, in which case it is still counted as a strike but does not result in an out.
