A sulphur-crested cockatoo is a striking and charismatic bird native to Australia and New Guinea, known for its majestic appearance and vibrant plumage. As the name suggests, these cockatoos have a prominent crest on their head, which can be raised or lowered depending on their mood or level of excitement. Their feathers are predominantly white, accentuated by vibrant yellow crests and bold yellow patches on their cheeks. With their large size and strong beaks, sulphur-crested cockatoos are formidable climbers and chewers, capable of breaking open tough nuts and seeds. They are highly intelligent and social birds, often seen in small flocks or pairs, engaging in playful behaviors and vocalizing with a range of screeches, squawks, and melodic calls.
