Ariadne is a character from Greek mythology known for her role in the story of Theseus and the Minotaur. She was the daughter of King Minos of Crete. She provided Theseus with a ball of thread that he used to navigate the labyrinth and find his way out after slaying the Minotaur. Afterward, Ariadne fled with Theseus, but he abandoned her on the island of Naxos. However, she was later rescued by the god Dionysus, who fell in love with her, and they married.
