What is "endocardium"?
The endocardium is a thin layer of tissue that lines the interior of the heart, including the chambers and valves. It is composed of endothelial cells and connective tissue, providing a protective and smooth surface for efficient blood flow. The endocardium also contributes to the regulation of cardiac function by participating in the conduction of electrical impulses and aiding in the prevention of infections and clot formation within the heart.
