a woolen boat-shaped cap with no brim and two ribbons at the back, decorated with a cockade, originally worn as a part of the traditional Scottish Highland dress
What is a "glengarry"?
A glengarry is a type of traditional Scottish cap that is often worn as part of Scottish military or civilian dress. It is made of wool and has a ribbed or quilted band around the base, often adorned with a decorative button on the left-hand side. The crown of the cap is flat and has a small pom-pom on top. The Glengarry is often associated with Scottish regiments of the British Army and is frequently worn with a kilt or other traditional Scottish attire. It has also been adopted by civilian pipe bands and is a popular headwear choice for events such as weddings, ceilidhs, and other formal occasions.
