a short, dead-end road that is often planned for future extension but currently terminates without connecting to other streets or throughways
What is a "stub street"?
A stub street is a road that is partially built but does not extend all the way to its intended endpoint. It is usually designed to be connected to another street or area in the future but remains incomplete for various reasons, such as delays in development or planning changes. Stub streets often appear in new or expanding neighborhoods, where construction may be planned in phases. These streets are sometimes marked with barriers or signs to indicate that they are temporary and will eventually be extended to connect with other parts of the area.
