Long off
01

the fielding position in cricket deep on the off side, typically towards the boundary

What is "long off"?

In cricket, long off is a fielding position on the side of the field, behind the batter, near the boundary. The fielder in this position stands farther from the batter to be ready for high shots, especially when the batter tries to hit the ball for distance. The long off fielder's job is to catch the ball if the batter hits it high into the air or stop it if it lands near the boundary. If the ball crosses the boundary, it counts as four runs for the batter.
