Wingsuit flying
01
the sport of gliding through the air using a specialized jumpsuit with fabric wings
What is "wingsuit flying"?
Wingsuit flying is an extreme sport where a person wears a special suit with fabric wings between the arms and legs, allowing them to glide through the air after jumping from an aircraft or a high point. The wingsuit increases the surface area of the body, enabling the flyer to control their direction and speed during freefall. While in the air, the person maneuvers like a bird or plane, using their body to steer. After reaching a lower altitude, the flyer opens a parachute to safely land. Wingsuit flying requires significant skydiving experience and precise control.
