Anhyzer
01
(flying disc sport) a throw where the disc is released with its outer edge tilted upward relative to the ground
What is an "anhyzer"?
An anhyzer is the opposite of a hyzer shot in disc sports. It occurs when the disc is thrown with an angle that causes it to curve in the opposite direction. For a right-handed player, the disc will curve to the right, while for a left-handed player, it will curve to the left. The anhyzer is typically used when the thrower wants the disc to follow a curved path, such as around obstacles or to reach a specific target. The technique involves tilting the disc away from the natural curve, allowing for greater control over the flight path.
Examples
The disc took a sharp left turn after he released it with a slight anhyzer.
Using an anhyzer with a stable disc helped him manage the strong headwind.
