What is a "weak side"?
In volleyball, a weak side refers to the area of the court opposite to where the team's setter is positioned. The setter is typically responsible for setting up offensive plays and is usually placed on one side of the court, which is considered the strong side. The weak side, therefore, is where players may have fewer opportunities to control the ball or set up attacks, and often, this side requires players to be more reactive and adaptable, as they may need to play a more defensive role.
Examples
When the setter is on the weak side, the hitters need to adjust their positions accordingly.
The weak side can become a target for aggressive serves.
