What is a "Pell Grant"?
A Pell Grant is a type of financial aid provided by the U.S. government to help low-income students pay for their college education. Unlike loans, Pell Grants do not need to be repaid. They are awarded based on financial need, as determined by the student's family income and other factors. The amount of the grant varies depending on the student's financial situation, the cost of attending school, and other factors. Pell Grants are typically given to undergraduate students who have not yet earned a degree and who are enrolled in a qualifying program at an eligible institution.
