What is a "smart smoke alarm"?
A smart smoke alarm is a smoke detector that connects to a home’s Wi-Fi network and can be monitored or controlled through a smartphone, tablet, or voice assistant. In addition to sounding an alarm when smoke is detected, it can send alerts to the user’s phone, even when they are away from home. Some smart smoke alarms also have features like carbon monoxide detection, battery status notifications, and the ability to silence the alarm remotely.
