Russian dumplings filled with minced meat, spices, and onions, boiled or steamed, and often served with sour cream or butter
What is "pelmeni"?
Pelmeni refers to Russian dumplings that are small, round, and typically filled with a mixture of ground meat, such as beef or pork, and onions. They have a chewy and tender texture, and when cooked, the meat filling becomes juicy and flavorful. Pelmeni is often served with a dollop of sour cream or melted butter and sprinkled with herbs. To make pelmeni, the dough is rolled out thin, and small circles are cut out. A spoonful of the meat filling is placed in the center of each circle, and the edges are folded and sealed to form dumplings. The pelmeni is then boiled until they float to the surface, indicating they are cooked and ready to be enjoyed.
