a thin, delicate pasta from Italy, commonly used with light sauces or in soups, salads, and seafood dishes
What is "capellini"?
Capellini, also known as angel hair pasta, is an incredibly thin and delicate Italian pasta. Its fine strands are thinner than spaghetti, giving it a delicate appearance and texture. Capellini cooks quickly and has a delicate, tender texture when cooked al dente. Its fine strands allow sauces to coat the pasta evenly, resulting in a harmonious blend of flavors. To make capellini, durum wheat semolina is mixed with water to form a dough, which is then rolled out thinly and cut into fine strands. Capellini pairs well with light and delicate sauces, such as simple garlic and olive oil, light tomato sauces, or light cream-based sauces.
