Glassblowing
01
the activity or craft of using a special tube to blow air into molten glass in order to make glass objects and ornaments
What is "glassblowing"?
Glassblowing is a technique for shaping molten glass into various forms using a blowpipe and other tools. The process starts by melting glass in a furnace until it becomes a liquid. The glass is then gathered on the end of a blowpipe, and air is blown into it to expand and shape the glass. By rotating and manipulating the glass while blowing, artists can create objects like vases, bottles, and sculptures. The glass is then cooled slowly in a kiln to solidify into its final form.
Example
The workers wore protective suits to handle the molten glass in the glassblowing factory.
During the glassblowing workshop, the artist heated a glass rod in the flame until it became malleable, shaping it into intricate designs.
