What is "vagina"?

The vagina is a muscular canal in the female reproductive system that serves as the entry point to the uterus. It is located between the external genitalia (vulva) and the cervix. The vagina plays multiple roles, including facilitating sexual intercourse, acting as a passageway for menstrual blood to exit the body during menstruation, and providing a pathway for childbirth. Its walls are lined with elastic tissue that allows for expansion and contraction. The vagina also has a self-cleansing mechanism and produces lubrication to aid in sexual activity.
