What is a "pilot"?
A pilot is the first episode of a television show or series, created to showcase the concept, characters, and style of the program. It serves as a test episode to see how well the show is received by audiences, critics, and network executives. If the pilot is successful, it may lead to a full season of episodes. Pilots are often used to help decide whether a show should be picked up for regular production or not, and they are usually not aired as part of the regular series unless the show is approved.
