Who is an "optometrist"?
An optometrist is a healthcare professional who specializes in providing basic eye care. These specialists perform thorough eye exams to evaluate vision and eye health, prescribe eyeglasses or contact lenses to correct refractive errors such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism, and diagnose and manage various eye conditions and diseases.
