Jai alai is a fast-paced sport played on a three-walled court using a curved wicker basket called a cesta to catch and throw a ball, known as a pelota, against the front wall. The ball must be caught and returned in one fluid motion before it bounces twice. Points are scored when an opponent fails to make a valid return. Originating in the Basque region of Spain, jai alai is known for its speed and precision and has gained popularity in parts of Europe, the Americas, and Asia.
