What is an "analog stick"?
An analog stick is a small, joystick-like control found on many game controllers. It allows players to move characters or objects in a game with more precision than a directional pad. Unlike the D-pad, which has a fixed set of directions, an analog stick can move in any direction and is sensitive to how far it is pushed, allowing for smooth and variable control. Analog sticks are commonly used for 3D movement in action, adventure, and shooter games, offering more fluid and natural control compared to digital buttons.
Example
The analog stick on the game controller makes it easier to navigate the 3D world in the game.
She used the analog stick to steer her character through the obstacle course.
I prefer using the analog stick for movement rather than the directional pad.
