What is "Hangul"?

Hangul is the writing system used for the Korean language. It was created in the 15th century by King Sejong the Great and his scholars to improve literacy among the Korean people. Hangul consists of 14 basic consonants and 10 basic vowels, which can be combined into syllabic blocks. Each block represents a single syllable and can contain one or more consonants along with a vowel. For example, the syllable "한" is made up of the consonant "ㅎ" (h), the vowel "ㅏ" (a), and the consonant "ㄴ" (n).
