What are "subsidiary rights"?
Subsidiary rights are the additional rights to a work that are separate from the primary rights of publication. These rights allow for the adaptation, reproduction, or distribution of the work in various forms beyond the original publication. Examples include rights for translations, adaptations into films or television, audio recordings, and merchandising. Owning or managing subsidiary rights can provide additional revenue streams and expand the reach of the work into new markets or formats.
