What is a "kittel"?

A kittel is a long, white, robe-like garment worn by Jewish men on special occasions or during prayer services. Typically made of lightweight, breathable cotton or linen, it has long sleeves, a collar, and a button-up front. The kittel is often associated with the High Holy Days, particularly Yom Kippur, as well as weddings and other significant religious events.
