What is a "ringdove"?
A ringdove, also known as the Eurasian collared dove (Streptopelia decaocto), is a medium-sized bird that has become widespread across Europe, Asia, and North America. With its soft gray plumage and a distinct black half-collar marking on the back of its neck, the ringdove is easily recognizable.
