What is "chlamydia"?

Chlamydia is a common sexually transmitted infection (STI) caused by a bacterium called Chlamydia trachomatis. Symptoms of chlamydia may include pain or discomfort during urination, unusual discharge from the male or female reproductive organs, and pain or swelling in the genital area.
