What is "seven-card stud"?

Seven-card stud is a traditional poker game played with two to eight players. Each player is dealt seven cards, three face down and four face up. The goal is to make the best five-card hand from the seven cards dealt. The game involves five betting rounds, one after the initial three cards are dealt, and additional rounds after the fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh cards are revealed.
