What is "gomoku"?

Gomoku is a two-player strategy board game played on a grid, usually 15x15. Players take turns placing their pieces, typically black and white stones, on the grid intersections. The objective is to be the first to form an unbroken line of five of their pieces, either horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. The game is simple to learn but requires strategic thinking, as players must block their opponent from completing a line while trying to create one for themselves.
