What is a "learning disability"?
A learning disability is a condition that affects how a person processes information and learns new things. Individuals with learning disabilities may have difficulty with specific skills, such as reading, writing, or math, despite having average or above-average intelligence. These difficulties are often because of the differences in how the brain processes information. Learning disabilities can vary widely in their impact and may coexist with other conditions, such as ADHD or dyslexia. With appropriate support and accommodations, individuals with learning disabilities can develop strategies to overcome challenges and succeed academically and in other areas of life.
