What is "poetic license"?
Poetic license is the freedom that writers and poets use to bend or break traditional rules of language, grammar, or logic in order to enhance their expression or achieve a particular effect in their writing. This might include altering usual word meanings, inventing new phrases, or stretching reality to create a specific mood, image, or meaning. For instance, a poet might use unusual word choices or structures to convey deeper emotions or create vivid images.
