What is "testicle"?
The testicle, also known as the testis, is a male reproductive organ responsible for producing sperm and testosterone. These oval-shaped organs are located within the scrotum, outside the body, to maintain a slightly lower temperature necessary for sperm production. The testicles house numerous tiny seminiferous tubules where sperm cells are generated through a process called spermatogenesis. Additionally, they secrete testosterone, a hormone crucial for male sexual development, secondary sexual characteristics, and reproductive function. The testicles play a vital role in fertility and overall male health.
