What is a "tarboosh"?
A tarboosh, also known as a fez, is a cylindrical hat made of felt or wool that is typically associated with the Ottoman Empire and is still commonly worn in some countries today. It features a flat top, rounded body, and tassel on the crown, and is often red in color. The tarboosh was traditionally worn by men in the Ottoman Empire as a symbol of their social status and religion, and it became popular in other parts of the world as well. Today, it is still worn in various cultural and religious contexts, such as in Morocco and the Balkans, as well as in certain fraternal organizations and military units.
