What is the "Barbizon School"?
The Barbizon School was an art movement that developed in France during the mid-19th century, named after the village of Barbizon where many of its artists lived. The Barbizon School focused on painting natural landscapes and scenes from the countryside in a realistic way, capturing the simplicity and beauty of everyday life in the countryside.
