What is the "IELTS"?
The IELTS, or International English Language Testing System, is a standardized test designed to assess the English language proficiency of non-native speakers. It is commonly required for admission to universities and colleges in English-speaking countries, as well as for visa applications and professional certifications. The IELTS evaluates four key language skills: listening, reading, writing, and speaking. The listening section tests the ability to understand spoken English in various contexts, while the reading section assesses comprehension of different types of written texts. The writing section involves composing essays and reports, and the speaking section includes a face-to-face interview with an examiner, focusing on conversational skills. The IELTS is recognized worldwide and is available in two formats: the Academic version for higher education and the General Training version for broader purposes, such as employment and immigration.
