What is a "dryer"?

A dryer is an electrical appliance used for drying clothes by circulating hot air around them. The machine contains a rotating drum in which clothes are placed for drying. The drum is heated by an electric heating element or gas burner, and the moist air from the clothes is vented outside through a duct. Some dryers also include sensors that can detect the level of moisture in the clothes and adjust the drying time accordingly.
