a manual coffee brewing device that uses steeping and pressing to extract the flavors from coffee grounds
What is "French press"?
A French press, also known as a press pot or plunger pot, is a type of coffee maker that is used to brew coffee by steeping coarsely ground coffee beans in hot water. The French press consists of a cylindrical glass or stainless steel carafe with a plunger and a metal mesh filter. To make coffee using a French press, the coarsely ground coffee is placed in the carafe, hot water is added, and the mixture is stirred. After a few minutes of steeping, the plunger is pressed down, which pushes the coffee grounds to the bottom of the carafe and separates them from the brewed coffee. The resulting coffee is rich and full-bodied, with a robust flavor and a slight sediment that adds to its complexity. French presses are a popular brewing method for coffee lovers who appreciate the rich and nuanced flavors that can be achieved with this method. They are often used in homes and cafes around the world.
