Red deer are known for their reddish-brown coat, which is typically darker in males during the breeding season. One of the most prominent features of male red deer are their impressive antlers, which can grow up to 1.2 meters (4 feet) long and have multiple points, or tines. Female red deer, known as hinds, are generally smaller and do not have antlers.
