Square leg
01
a fielding position in cricket roughly square of the batsman on the leg side
What is "square leg"?
Square leg is a position in cricket where a fielder stands on the side of the field, near the batter but slightly behind them. The fielder's job is to stop or catch balls that are hit to the side, especially low shots or those that travel across the field. This position helps prevent runs from being scored and is important for catching balls hit off the bat when the batter tries to hit the ball sideways.
