What is "roller derby"?
Roller derby is a fast-paced contact sport played on roller skates, typically by two teams of five players each. The game takes place on an oval track, and the objective is for one player, known as the jammer, to lap members of the opposing team while avoiding blockers who try to prevent them from passing. The blockers also try to help their jammer score by blocking the opposing jammer. Roller derby requires speed, strategy, and teamwork, as well as physical endurance and the ability to navigate the challenges of a fast-moving game.
