01

a children's outdoor game where two teams line up facing each other, and players take turns running to break through the opposing team's linked arms

What is "Red Rover"?

Red Rover is a traditional outdoor game played with two teams. The teams form lines by holding hands, with each team standing opposite the other. One team calls out the name of a player from the other team, saying "Red Rover, Red Rover, send [player's name] right over," or a similar chant. The chosen player then runs toward the opposing team's line and tries to break through by separating the hands of two players. If successful, they return to their team with one player from the opposing team. If not, they join the opposing team. The game continues until one team has all the players. Red Rover encourages teamwork and strength.
