What is a "parka"?

A parka is a long coat that typically falls below the waist and is designed to provide warmth in cold weather conditions. It is typically made from a waterproof or water-resistant material, such as nylon or Gore-Tex, and may be insulated with down, synthetic materials, or a combination of both. The parka often features a fur or faux-fur trimmed hood to protect the face and head from wind and snow, as well as adjustable cuffs, waist, and hem to trap warmth and prevent cold air from entering. It may also have several pockets for storage and convenience, and can be worn for a variety of outdoor activities such as skiing, hiking, or commuting in cold weather.
