What is "anaplasmosis"?

Anaplasmosis is disease that affects both humans and animals, caused by the bacterium Anaplasma. It is usually spread through tick bites or contaminated needles and surgical instruments. In humans, anaplasmosis can cause fever, headache, muscle aches, and other flu-like symptoms.
