What is "coccyx"?
The coccyx, commonly known as the tailbone, is a small triangular bone located at the base of the spine. It is the remnant of a tail structure found in some other mammals. While its functional significance may be reduced in humans, the coccyx still plays a role in weight distribution during sitting and helps protect the lower spine.
