Chickenpox is a highly contagious viral infection caused by the varicella-zoster virus. It mainly affects children and causes an itchy rash of red spots or blisters, often with flu-like symptoms such as fever, headache, and fatigue. The rash typically starts on the face, chest, and back before spreading to the rest of the body.
