What is "swing blocking"?
Swing blocking in volleyball is a technique where a player jumps to block an incoming hit, but instead of staying in a fixed position, they move their arms in a swinging motion to adjust and cover a larger area of the net. This allows the blocker to reach more of the court and better react to where the ball is going. The goal is to time the swing properly to increase the chance of stopping the ball, making it more difficult for the opponent to score. Swing blocking requires good timing, coordination, and awareness of the hitter's movements.
