What is a "white tiger"?
The white tiger is a rare color variant of the Bengal tiger (Panthera tigris tigris) that is characterized by its distinctive white coat with blue eyes and pink nose. It is not a separate species or subspecies of tiger, but rather a genetic condition called leucism, which causes a reduction in pigmentation. White tigers are not commonly found in the wild and are primarily seen in captivity, as they are the result of inbreeding among captive tigers to produce the desired white coat coloration. White tigers have a similar body size and structure as regular Bengal tigers, with a muscular build and sharp teeth and claws adapted for hunting. They are carnivorous predators and primarily feed on large mammals such as deer, wild boar, and antelope.
